Lighting & Fixtures
Proper kitchen lighting requires a balanced three-tier system: warm recessed ceiling fixtures for overall ambient light, concealed under-cabinet LED strips for shadow-free countertop prep, and striking pendant fixtures over the central island. We pair this with solid brass and copper faucets, deep undermount sinks, and matching hardware.

Kitchen lighting and plumbing fixtures in Dunwoody
Kitchens from the 1970s and 1980s were usually lit by one ceiling box. Once a wall comes out or an island goes in, that single fixture cannot light the room. Good kitchen lighting works in three layers: recessed ambient light, under-cabinet task light on the counters and decorative pendants over the island, each on its own dimmer.
Lighting changes usually mean new circuits, and older Dunwoody homes may also need panel capacity for induction ranges and island outlets. That electrical work is permitted and inspected as part of the remodel.
On the plumbing side we install undermount and farmhouse sinks, pull-down and bridge faucets, pot fillers, reverse-osmosis drinking water and prep sinks, coordinated with the hardware finish.
Lighting and fixture work
- Recessed LED ambient lighting on dimmers
- Under-cabinet task lighting
- Island pendants and statement fixtures
- New circuits and panel upgrades where needed
- Sinks, faucets, pot fillers and filtered water
Common questions
Do I need a permit for new kitchen lighting?
New circuits, moved outlets and recessed lighting circuits generally need an electrical permit. Swapping a fixture on an existing circuit usually does not.
